Today is a big day for America with the all-important Presidential Election, but before you get bogged down in propositions and voting forms be sure to enjoy this fun-filled collection of photos from West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval which is sure to put a big smile on your face.
With the Pan Am series on TV last year there were lots of in-flight attendants twelve months ago, but it was still a popular look along Santa Monica Boulevard this October.
As always in West Hollywood there were also some good witches and evil witches filling the streets.
Plus lots of elaborate costumes, from glam geishas to pink flamingos and historical queens.
What you don't always see from these photos is how intricate some of these costumes are and how well they light up at night to create a real spectacle.
Talking of spectacle, you can't beat this deep sea diver costume (although 'costume' seems such an inadequate word to describe this clever, creative installation).
He must also live pretty close, with a bit of storage space, as that's not something you merely throw on and casually walk to the boulevard in.
There were also lots of familiar fancy dress costumes like clowns, angels, nuns and priests in attendance, plus if Madagascar 3 proved anything, you can't go wrong with a rainbow afro wig.
There were also some costumes inspired by the great outdoors, like this Park Ranger and grizzly bear duo.
Plus this rather windswept fellow that makes for a great bit of comedy theatre.
I also love how friends come to party at the Halloween Carnaval in their group themed costumes, although I'm not sure how you eat, drink or breathe in these colourful lycra outfits.
And there's always those fabulous people who know how to find the right spot and work a crowd.
And that's sadly it from this year's Halloween festivities where everyone comes together, young or old, gay or straight, angel or devil.
Be sure to check out all the cool costumes and fun folk at this year's WEHO Halloween Carnaval and let the countdown begin until 2013's spooky season.
Until then, go out and vote for Obama (otherwise that would be a real life nightmare)...
