If you're a fan of seeing behind-the-scenes of Hollywoodland it's a good time to be in L.A. at the moment, with lots of costume and prop exhibits for all the big holiday blockbusters.
Costume and prop display from The Muppets movie
Over at the ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema you can see actual costumes worn by Amy Adams and Jason Segel in The Muppets new movie, plus original props like Kermit's banjo too.
Original costumes from Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

ArcLight Hollywood and Sherman Oaks locations both have a fantastic selection of costumes worn in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, including outfits worn by Tom Cruise, Paula Patton and Jeremy Renner.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy movie costume exhibit

Over in the ArcLight Hollywood foyer there is also a cool display of 70's inspired outfits from the big screen adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, including costumes worn by Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows costume display

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law fans will love these outfits worn by the actors in their second Sherlock Holmes movie outing. Be sure to check out these costumes from A Game of Shadows.
The Adventures of Tintin movie display

Even though you don't have any props or costumes with an animated movie, The Adventures of Tintin still had this cool display in the Hollywood cinema location to promote the new Steven Spielberg helmed movie.
Universal Studios Hollywood costumes and props

If you find yourself at Universal Studios Hollywood this festive season, you should definitely check out their NBC Universal Experience attraction which houses a wide assortment of memorabilia from the world of film and television.

The exhibit is refreshed about three times a year and at the moment there are costumes, props and models from the Fast & Furious movies, Cowboys & Aliens, Hanna, The Thing, Robin Hood, The Blues Brothers, Scott Pilgrim vs The World and more. Plus from TV you can see outfits and props from House M.D., Heroes, Friday Night Lights and The Office, to name but a few.
Hugo movie costume and prop exhibit

And whilst these other costume and props are no longer on display, they are well worth mentioning. ArcLight Hollywood recently housed this cool display of costumes and the amazing automaton movie prop from the charming film Hugo.

This detailed 'mechanical man' is certainly one of the best movie props I've seen up close.
Original costumes featured in My Week with Marilyn

Also at the same location were these movie costumes worn by Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh in My Week with Marilyn.
The Descendants movie costume display

If you're a George Clooney fan, you could also recently see one of the outfits he wore in The Descendants.
Costume and prop display from
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

And for all those Twilight fans, in November you could see Taylor Lautner's motorbike and jacket, plus other original props from Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 on display.
As you can see, it's been a great couple of months for movie fans. Let's hope that 2012 is as generous.
Be sure to check back at Jason in Hollywood in the future for all the coolest finds...
